FACT: 84% of people access/visit only the sites that appear on the front page of Google.

Thinking little about that. Imagine that the Web would be a gigantic city with shops. If your site would be in the top 10 of the Web, that would be equivalent to having the store on the main commercial street of the city or near the entrance to the largest mall in human history. If you do not figure in the top 10 Google results (on the front page) it's like having your store somewhere on the outskirts of the city. An optimal position in a major mall will ensure massive traffic with people coming in and out in one of the stores. On the Web, a Top Position on Google has exactly the same effect.

Recent research has shown that the power of a top ranking is even higher than the statistical figure of 84% suggests. Apparently, the more your business gets closer to number one, the more likely you are to actually convince your visitors to buy the product or service you are advertising. It's almost like Internet browsers associate a top position on Google with a quality brand.

It's fascinating how, the power of the internet and its potential contributes to transforming our business, politics and our entire society. It is estimated that by 2020, over 60% of all sales will be made online.
